Role Description
This full-time, in-office role as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer and Department Head will involve leading design of Electrical systems for various projects. The day-to-day will include leading design engineering of Electrical systems in various market segments, utilizing Autodesk software. The lead engineer will set the culture and mentor the Electrical team to ensure efficient and effective system designs and contribute to the successful completion of projects with respect to quality, budget and deadline. Electrical department head is responsible for key client interaction in given market segments. Multidisciplinary design integration skills between internal departments and external clients are critical to the success of this position.
Qualifications
- Currently registered or ability to quickly obtain registered PE in state of Ohio
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Professional Engineer
- Proficient in Revit, able to teach and mentor growing engineering force
- Electrical design experience – emphasis on electrical distribution for large scale projects
- Desired skills and design experience in healthcare, industrial, higher-education, aviation or datacenters
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills supported by practical and energy efficient design calculations
- Track record of leading design teams, controlling man-hours, ensuring quality, meeting deadlines
- Strong knowledge of standards and codes
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is a must for this position
