My client is an employee-owned, full-service architecture and engineering firm located in Fond du Lac, WI. We provide architecture and engineering solutions to a range of markets, including Food/Industrial Facilities, Education, QSR Franchises, Land Development, Residential Housing, and Municipal Facilities.
Civil Engineering in our world means creating site development plans for the markets listed above. Our team of surveyors, civil engineers, and due diligence staff work together to advocate for our client's plan throughout the entirety of a project. This involves due diligence, site layout and design, grading and drainage plans, erosion control plans, utility layout, environmental permitting, stormwater management, expediting submittals, landscape plans, and photometrics.
You won't get bored working on the same type of project over and over. When you work on our team, you're not just the "street and utility design" or "stormwater" person. You'll gain experience in all responsibilities required to complete a job. We create well-rounded Civil Engineers who are able to take on any task.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CIVIL DESIGNER
- Any good day starts with a coffee. Head over to the commons and get a coffee the way you like it.
- Open up AutoCAD and Civil3D and get to work. Your focus each day will be on assisting with the drafting and site design for a variety of projects.
- Other things you may tackle include traffic studies, transportation design, bid documents, construction oversight, public infrastructure design, and environmental assessments.
- Have a question? Pop over to the Project Manager and talk it through.
- How is it lunchtime already? Food trucks are regularly on-site in the summer, and we're 5 minutes away from your favorite fast food. Need to move around? Take a walk around the pond or get a quick workout in at our fitness facility.
- Back to it! Hop on a call with the client and our other in-house disciplines to run through the latest project scope.
- Need to ask the architect a question? Stroll on over to their office.
- Wrapping up the day, grab a drink with the team or shoot a game of pool.
