We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer (Professional Engineer) to join our team in Nashville, TN. In this leadership role, you will manage project design efforts, mentor team members, and coordinate closely with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Design
- Manage project teams, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Oversee and produce site development designs for a variety of project types, ensuring quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Design roadways, drainage, and utility systems for retail centers, residential communities, schools, industrial sites, and mixed-use developments.
- Develop project timelines and milestones, communicating them effectively to the design team.
Client & Agency Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding project scope, progress, and challenges.
- Build professional relationships with agency reviewers and clients to facilitate approvals.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Delegate design responsibilities and ensure team members have the resources needed for success.
- Mentor, train, and guide technical staff in civil engineering design principles and best practices.
- Manage team workload and schedules to meet project deadlines.
Business Development & Firm Growth
- Contribute to proposals for new projects and identify new business opportunities.
- Represent the firm in professional organizations and within the development community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee or ability to obtain.
- 5–15 years of professional civil engineering experience, including civil site design and project leadership.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; working knowledge of Ajera is a plus.
- Strong design, analytical, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with local design regulations and permitting requirements in Middle Tennessee.
- Proven ability to create cost-effective, constructible designs.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and adaptable to working on a variety of project types.
- Located in Nashville or willing to relocate.
