Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our MEP engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience designing, developing, and overseeing mechanical systems for commercial, residential, healthcare, and/or industrial projects. This role requires expertise in HVAC, piping, and energy systems, along with strong coordination skills to collaborate with electrical and plumbing engineers, architects, and construction teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and review HVAC, piping, and other mechanical systems in compliance with building codes, standards, and sustainability goals.
- Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and equipment selection to ensure system efficiency and effectiveness.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.
- Collaborate with electrical and plumbing engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, review installations, and resolve design or field issues.
- Evaluate project requirements, budgets, and schedules to deliver cost-effective solutions.
- Provide technical support during bidding, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Stay current with industry standards, codes, and emerging technologies in mechanical systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
- 3–7+ years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally within the MEP/AE industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard design software.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and local building codes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Experience
- LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable design.
- Prior involvement in large-scale commercial, healthcare, or mixed-use projects.
- Familiarity with energy modeling software (e.g., Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP).
