We are seeking a Senior Level skilled/experienced electrical solar designer or engineer knowledgeable in Solar Photovoltaic system design for producing Photovoltaic System construction documents. Solar Designers work as part of a team with our clients (mostly contractors, utility companies, and city municipalities) to develop construction documents for large commercial solar power plants (10 MW+)). This position may require some in-field work gathering information, attending meetings and performing inspections on construction sites, etc.
Skills Required:
- A working knowledge of the National Electric Code
- AutoCAD skills, capable of doing design/input in AutoCAD
- Familiar with PV System Utility Interconnection Requirements (Arizona Utilities)
- Familiar with PV System equipment, manufacturers, and balance of system
- Familiar with communications protocols
- Familiar with control systems when integrated with large photovoltaic systems
- Familiar with medium voltage, up to 34.5 kV
- Ability to work with Excel, Powerpoint, Word
- Be able to manage multiple projects at once
- Communicate well with co-workers, clients, contractors and building officials
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years prior experience in photovoltaic design is a must. Those with BSEE degree and/or EIT or PE credentials will be considered and are a plus, but are not required for this position.
Compensation: Position is full-time, salary, wages DOE. This position is In-Office only and is not work-from-home or hybrid.
