We are seeking a full-time, Bridge Engineer to join our dynamic team in New York, NY, and Princeton, NJ. The Bridge Engineer will have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in bridge engineering, including design, inspection, rehabilitation, and/or construction support. The candidate must have experience working with transportation agencies such as MTA, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NJDOT, and NJTA.
Responsibilities
· Serves as structural/bridge discipline lead for all aspects of design, ranging from type, size, and location studies to the development of plans, specifications, estimates, and construction support services
· Serves as project engineer on various size projects
· Trains, directs, and mentors junior-level engineers
· Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing for bridges and related transportation structures.
· Prepare technical reports, calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
· Conduct bridge inspections, load ratings, and structural evaluations per agency standards.
· Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, contractors, and public agencies.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and standards, including AASHTO, NYSDOT, NJDOT, and NYC Bridge Manuals.
· Assist in preparing proposals, scope of work, and project schedules.
· Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs.
· Participate in meetings with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in bridge engineering.
· Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD, LARSA, SAP2000).
· Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and BIM technologies is a plus.
· Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
· Experience with NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NJDOT, NJTA and/or NY State Thruway Authority, PANYNJ, and MTA preferred.
· Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York and/or New Jersey is a plus.
