What you will be doing
- The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for the preparation of engineering Construction Documents including site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, storm water management, utility design, and paving
- Work with Project Managers and other staff, to lead the design for a variety of projects such as schools, office buildings, manufacturing facilities, parking garages, and multi-family housing
- Prepare hydraulic calculations and drainage reports including all associated calculations, reports and spreadsheets
- Prepare proposals and fee estimates as well as estimating work load to establish completion dates
- Responsible for all aspects of project design and capable of completing the design from start to finish with minimal assistance or guidance
- He or she will be able to independently evaluate, select and complete design solutions in order to deliver a quality design product in conformance with applicable building and zoning codes
- Provide engineering support during construction
What we are looking for
- Professional Registration with at least 10 years of site/civil engineering work experience with a private civil design firm that does similar work
- Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, drainage, hydraulics calculation and design
- Effective organizational skills to design and manage projects simultaneously, completing the work in accordance with client’s requirements/guidelines and schedules
- Thorough and attentive to details; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline-oriented
- Good working knowledge of codes, zoning regulations and agency approval process
- Effective communication, client management and interpersonal skills
- Able and willing to assist in the development of junior staff
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D
What educational background you will need
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture or related discipline
