BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Entry Level Lead Engineer.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
The following job description is a general summary of responsibilities typically performed
in this position. It is not all-inclusive and is not an employment contract. Employees are expected to perform responsibilities as assigned by
management.
– Oversee the preparation of deliverables and documents including narratives,
calculations, drawings and specifications
– Application of electrical distribution, lighting and power systems design
– Able to effectively communicate design options to a diverse stakeholder group
– Provide engineering direction and guidance for the project team
– Independently evaluate and apply engineering judgment, techniques, and
procedures to complete a project from concepts through construction
– Oversee electrical load calculations
– Complete the project within the budget and schedule
– Knowledge of other disciplines and direct¬ interdisciplinary coordination
– Provide updates to master specifications; provide input into standards
– Apply knowledge of building codes and electrical industry standards
– Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection
– Provide opinions of probable construction costs
– Perform site visits and issues reports
– Engineering application of distribution Load Flow, Short Circuit and Arc Flash
Energy analysis using Easy Power
– Implement the project quality management plan (QMP)
– Perform other duties as assigned
KEY COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:
– Advanced understanding of electrical engineering concepts
– Thorough understanding of project phases and their associated deliverables
– Develop the ability to assemble and run a team
– Strong delegation skills
– Effective written and verbal communication skills
– Knowledge and application of the NEC and relevant building and energy codes
– Microsoft Office Suite

QUALIFICATIONS:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline work
– Relevant Professional Credential (i.e., PE) preferred
– Requires a minimum 2-4 years of Electrical E-2 or 3-5 years’ related work
experience
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This job operates in a professional hybrid office environment. This role routinely uses
standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.
