They mentor junior staff, oversee CAD drafting, and ensure compliance with regulations. This role demands a professional license (PLS) and 5+ years of experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Plan, organize, and direct survey projects, ensuring quality control, budgetary control, and adherence to deadlines.
- Technical Expertise: Conduct complex boundary re-establishments, prepare legal descriptions, and manage ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
- Data Analysis & Mapping: Process data from field crews using software like AutoCAD/Civil 3D to create accurate maps, plats, and records.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor junior surveyors and field crew members.
- Field Operations: Oversee the use of GNSS, Total Stations, and drone technology.
- Liaison: Coordinate with clients, engineers, developers, and government agencies.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Licensure: Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in land surveying.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS software, and surveying data processing software.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of state/federal laws (e.g., Subdivision Map Act), boundary laws, and surveying techniques.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to manage teams and communicate with clients.
