Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as traffic studies, corridor planning, feasibility studies, safety audits, intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic and signal operations analysis.
- Manage private planning projects
- Assisting in outside contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
- Capital improvement planning including providing cost estimates, feasibility studies, and developing recommendations and innovative solutions
- Obtaining, analyzing, and interpreting demographic and other regional transportation planning data.
- Assisting in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs for projects.
- Reviewing construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
- Serving as on-site project representative.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
- EIT, FE, or PE (not required, but preferred)
- PTOE (or trending) preferred
- Knowledge of CADD Software (MicroStation or AutoCAD or OpenRoads)
- Experienced with NCDOT and/or SCDOT projects
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and ability to meet multiple deadlines
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid Driver’s License
