Project Surveyor
Job Summary:
The Project Surveyor is responsible for completion of projects including the day-to-day tasks of the technical and drafting team assigned. Responsible for boundary survey and construction calculations analysis and final map checking.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Completes the technical execution of construction surveys, boundary surveys, and topo surveys.
- Provides leadership in a technical role in the project team; assists project leads in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation of the project.
- Coordinates with the field staff as needed.
- Collects and reviews legal descriptions, survey plats, and other documents to assist in conducting survey work.
- Works under the direction of the Project Lead to organize and plan the project schedules and assists with staffing tasks.
- Reports to the Project Lead the team’s progress, and is responsible for the completeness and accuracy of their product.
- Occasionally interfaces with clients and contractors on schedules and tasks.
- Review of plans and project activities that include identifying shortfalls and anticipating solutions to the Project Lead.
- Able to occasionally stand in for Project Lead regarding project specific matters.
- Assists in overseeing work of more junior office-based survey team and assists project lead in training of junior staff.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Strong attention to detail.
- Competent in writing legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, subdivision plats, and construction calculations.
- Proficiency with Auto CAD Civil 3D, experience with Trimble Business Center and GIS knowledge is a plus.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- At least 3 years of survey experience in a related field.
Work Environment: Normal office environment. This is not a remote position. The company feels collaboration is essential and work is to be performed in the office.
