Office Surveyor
Job Summary:
Responsible for daily production of survey documents; and participates with the Project Surveyor/Project Lead in planning and oversight of multiple projects to meet budgetary and timeline targets. Perform calculations and create survey documents for various types of surveys such as topographic, right-of-way, and control surveys.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Production of boundary, construction and design survey documents.
- Identifies and recommends solutions to technical survey problems, errors in surveys, plats, filing documents and more.
- Reviews for completeness and accuracy any boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and residential surveys as well as any associated calculations or field data collection.
- Perform construction calculations and create documents for use by field staff.
- Ability to comprehend information found in technical and legal documents such as construction plans and deeds.
- Demonstrate high attention for completeness and accuracy as well as document quality control.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Strong verbal/written communication and organizational skills.
- Must work well with a team, take direction well, and possess a strong willingness to learn.
- Proficiency with Auto CAD Civil 3D preferred.
- Trimble Business Center and GIS knowledge is a plus.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 2 - 4 years of land survey experience required in a related field.
