Senior Land Development Project Manager
Job Summary:
The Senior Land Development Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing land development projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget. This role involves collaboration with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, contractors, engineers, architects, and government agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Management:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Manage all phases of land development projects, from site assessment and feasibility studies to construction and final approvals.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Lead and mentor a team of project managers, engineers, and other staff involved in land development projects.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure project goals are met.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among project stakeholders.
- Client and Stakeholder Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing concerns promptly.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, government officials, and other key stakeholders.
- Negotiate contracts, manage client expectations, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Regulatory Compliance and Permitting:
- Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and obtain necessary permits.
- Work closely with regulatory agencies to facilitate approvals and inspections.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
- Track project expenses and prepare financial reports for stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all safety protocols and standards are adhered to on project sites.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare detailed project reports, including status updates, budget tracking, and project milestones.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in land development or related field, with at least 5 years in a project management role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale land development projects.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Strong understanding of land development processes, including regulatory requirements and permitting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
- Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is advantageous.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with regular visits to project sites.
- Travel to project sites and meetings with clients and stakeholders as required.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet project deadlines.
