Your Role and Responsibilities
- Autonomy & Leadership: With the support of your fellow employee owners including company leadership and the project team, and direct access to a comprehensive learning and development program, you’ll perform independently steer in all technical aspects of roadway engineering and lead the project design, production and quality assurance/quality control to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions to our clients with the support of your team and leadership.

Essential Functions:
- Prepares project specifications, compiles, and analyzes relevant data, and prepares complete project documents, analysis, and reports.
- Analyzes and interprets data. Performs analyses of design, planning, and impact studies, as well as cost analyses, design requirements, site selection, and limited design layouts.
- Designs a complete project, system, component, or process and prepares project documents, engineering analysis, and reports.
- Performs quality control reviews and ensures achievement of key milestones. Perform as-needed field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects to maintain and increase understanding of construction practices and design applications.
- Formulates and solves problems with timely and innovative solutions.
- Maintains professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements. Remains knowledgeable of all applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances that are pertinent to respective discipline. May provide technical guidance and assign tasks to junior and support staff for project duration. May also manage discipline and small multidisciplinary teams and ensure adherence to company and project contractual requirements.
- Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice.
What You Need to Succeed
- Professional Engineering License: You are a licensed professional engineer in Indiana, or can obtain reciprocity within six months, holding a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a similar discipline from an ABET-accredited university.
- Experience: You bring 5+ years of progressive civil engineering design-build experience with focus on heavy highway projects
- Quality Focus: You are dedicated to delivering industry-leading products, staying organized, paying attention to details, and ensuring effective quality control processes.
- Client Partnership: You understand your client's goals, provide thoughtful options, advise on challenging decisions, and act as a reliable partner, proactively communicating to address challenges before they arise.
- Technical Proficiency: You are well-versed in INDOT and FHWA policies and procedures, with experience in OpenRoads, MicroStation, and/or Corridor Modeling programs.
- Project Management: You maintain budgets, stay on schedule, and meet all deadlines and interim milestones, keeping projects on track.
- Team Collaboration and Mentorship: You enjoy working collaboratively with teams and mentoring others, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
