Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Land Development Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will plan, design, and manage land development projects, including residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use projects. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, utilizing your knowledge in civil engineering, environmental impact, and land-use planning to develop efficient and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Analysis and Planning: Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies, analyze land use and zoning laws, and evaluate environmental impact.
- Project Design: Develop site layout, grading, stormwater management, and utility design for land development projects. Produce engineering plans and specifications that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Permitting and Compliance: Prepare and submit necessary permit applications, ensuring all project designs adhere to local ordinances and environmental regulations.
- Project Management: Coordinate with contractors, surveyors, architects, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare cost estimates and budgets for civil engineering components of land development projects.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, proposals, and documentation for internal and client use.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee on-site construction to ensure compliance with design plans and specifications and perform quality control inspections as needed.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project progress and potential issues with clients, government agencies, and internal team members.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. (Master's degree is a plus.)
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within [timeframe].
- Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in land development engineering, with expertise in grading, drainage, roadway, and utility design.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydrology software, GIS, and other civil engineering design tools.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of local zoning regulations, environmental standards, and permitting processes.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
