Summary:
Our team is looking for an experienced Highway Engineer to support roadway and highway design projects for NCDOT and municipal clients throughout North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for roadway analysis and design, preparing plans and specifications, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. This position offers the opportunity to work on both conventional and design-build transportation projects.

What I'm looking for:
- Perform roadway and highway analysis and design for NCDOT and municipal projects
- Prepare engineering plans, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and project documentation
- Analyze engineering data and develop innovative design solutions
- Monitor project schedules, labor budgets, and deliverables
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and key stakeholders
- Perform quality control reviews and ensure project milestones are achieved
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff as needed
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local design standards and regulations
What's Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Minimum of 5 years of roadway design experience with NCDOT and/or North Carolina municipalities
- Proficiency with Civil 3D
- Working knowledge of OpenRoads, MicroStation, and/or Corridor Modeling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project coordination skills
