The successful candidate will be lead an engineering team in our civil and water/wastewater design groups. These groups provide design engineering and construction management services for surrounding municipalities in Michigan and other locations across the US. Typical projects include a wide variety of municipal and private projects, including water and wastewater treatment, stormwater, grading, sewer, water analysis, and evaluation of regulations.
Your Role:
- Perform conceptual and detailed design and hydraulic calculations and analyses
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting documents
- Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects
- Perform engineering interpretation of specifications and drawings, recommending and documenting design modifications, and coordinating with the design team
- Review submittals from contractors for conformance with engineering specifications and drawings and respond to requests for additional information
- Provide onsite resident engineer responsibilities during the construction of projects to ensure contract design and specifications are being followed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required, or ability to obtain within one year
- 5+ years of experience in planning and designing water/wastewater treatment, distribution/conveyance, pumping, and storage facilities
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, to include Excel, word processing, and scheduling programs, as well as proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Revit.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- This position could require periodic travel, approximately 15% or more
