The Director of Architecture is responsible for the architecture division firm wide, including client development, and ensuring the profitability of the division. This person will assist in managing and directing the company toward its Board of Directors' approved objectives, established direction and long-range plans. This person will also make leadership contributions on Business Development, Marketing, and Office Management.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Responsible for staff and production of architecture department companywide.
- Ensure the division is properly staffed and work with the Director of Operators, Office Directors, and Director of Business Services to ensure production is being carried out effectively and efficiently.
- Responsible for ensuring new staff is trained and productive, that staff are being utilized to optimize their production abilities, and that members are growing in their profession.
- Charged with ensuring company standards and policies are followed and providing feedback when changes to those standards and policies are warranted.
- Assist in carrying out current and long-range objectives, plans and policies.
- As assigned by executive management, assist in dispensing advice, guidance, and direction to carry out major plans and procedures consistent with Board of Director established goals and policies.
- Represent the company with identified customers, and the public. Marketing the firm and creating new client opportunities, also representing the firm on new client interviews.
- As assigned, attend conferences for marketing purposes and make presentations.
- Assist with creating and promoting a positive company image and morale through sound and ethical business practices. Provide leadership that stimulates positive motivation and morale to employees and projects a favorable professional image to peers, clients, and the community.
- Assist with identify mutually beneficial business development strategies with other firms.
- Assist in identifying liability to the firm and limiting exposure.
- Assist in ensuring a high-quality service is provided to clients, act as required to maintain the firm's reputation for excellent in design.
- Development of project agreements/contracts.
- Development and signing of subconsultant agreements.
- Assisting with projects including project management as needed.
Qualifications:
- RA license in at least one U.S. state.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Revit experience and strong design skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
