A BIM (Building Information Modeling) Specialist creates, manages, and coordinates intelligent 3D models using software like Revit to optimize construction projects. They ensure design accuracy, perform clash detection to prevent field conflicts, maintain model standards, and facilitate collaboration among architects, engineers, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Modeling & Production: Developing detailed 3D models and generating 2D construction documents, plans, and sections.
- Clash Detection & Coordination: Identifying conflicts between architectural, structural, and MEP systems before construction.
- Model Management: Maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and standards of the BIM model throughout the project lifecycle.
- Data Management: Managing data-rich models for, as-built, and facilities management purposes.
- Workflow Support: Providing technical support, training, and troubleshooting for project teams.
- Implementation: Developing BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and implementing company-wide standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of construction methods, design principles, and building codes.
- Technical Skills: Experience with model coordination, clash detection, and rendering tools.
