Simes and Rosch Engineering is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC design across commercial, municipal, and government projects.
What you'll do:
- Design HVAC systems from concept through construction documents for commercial, municipal, and government clients
- Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and ductwork/piping layout
- Coordinate with architects, structural, and electrical engineers throughout project delivery
- Review and oversee construction administration, including RFI responses and submittal review
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes (ASHRAE, IECC, local jurisdiction requirements) and project specifications
- Support proposal development and scope estimation for new projects as needed
What you bring:
- Minimum 5 years of experience designing HVAC systems, with direct experience in commercial, municipal, and/or government sectors
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC design software (e.g., Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, or similar load calculation tools)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP
- Solid understanding of mechanical codes and energy standards
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal oversight
- Strong communication skills for client-facing and cross-discipline coordination
