Role Description The Senior Structural Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Jacksonville, FL. This role is responsible for leading structural design and analysis for buildings and infrastructure, preparing and reviewing engineering calculations, and producing detailed drawings and specifications. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with civil engineers, architects, and construction teams, performing structural assessments, and ensuring designs comply with codes, standards, and client requirements. The Senior Structural Engineer will review shop drawings, support threshold inspections, provide construction-phase engineering support, and mentor junior engineers and designers. The role also involves participating in project planning, contributing to proposals, and supporting design-build delivery in collaboration with project managers.
- QualificationsStrong foundation in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering, with experience applying these disciplines to building, transportation, or land development projects.
- Proficiency in Structural Analysis and engineering Calculations, including the ability to review and validate calculations prepared by others.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for developing structural drawings, details, and coordination with other disciplines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (master’s degree preferred) and professional engineer (PE) licensure or eligibility for licensure in Florida.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, industry standards, and construction practices, with a focus on safety, quality, and constructability.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary projects, with strong communication skills for collaborating with design and construction teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience in design-build or construction management environments is beneficial, along with prior mentorship or leadership of junior staff.
