Plumbing Engineer / Designer: We are looking for a Plumbing Engineer or Designer to join our team and work on a variety of commercial, healthcare, higher education, industrial, and other building projects. This role will work closely with engineering, estimating, pre-construction, and construction teams in a design-build and design-assist environment.
What You’ll Do
- Design plumbing systems for commercial and institutional building projects
- Develop riser diagrams, flow diagrams, piping layouts, and construction documents
- Select plumbing equipment and develop system requirements
- Create and coordinate plans using Revit and AutoCAD
- Coordinate plumbing designs with other trades and disciplines
- Ensure designs meet applicable plumbing codes and safety standards
- Assist estimating and pre-construction teams with proposals and project planning
- Review and approve shop drawing submittals from vendors
- Help develop and maintain CAD/BIM standards and details
- Work on projects from initial design through construction
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, architects, and other project team members
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of plumbing design or facilities design experience
- Experience with commercial, healthcare, higher education, or similar projects
- Knowledge of IPC and UPC plumbing codes
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of plumbing equipment and systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Self-starter who works well independently and with a team
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical degree is a plus
- CPD certification or interest in obtaining it is a plus
- Estimating or construction experience is a plus
