About the Company
We are a forward-thinking electrical contracting and integrated systems firm committed to excellence, safety, collaboration, and innovation in engineering and construction. Our team includes apprentices, journeyman electricians, superintendents, and VDC engineers who work together to deliver high-quality projects across various sectors.
Position Summary
As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role bridging design, modeling, and field implementation of electrical systems across commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical system designs (power distribution, lighting, control systems, etc.) and create detailed engineering documentation (calculation sheets, layouts, one-lines)
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical/plumbing/structural engineers, and specialty trades to coordinate all building systems
- Support VDC/BIM workflows: integrate your designs into the model, coordinate clashes, and verify constructability
- Provide technical guidance and support for field teams to troubleshoot and resolve installation issues
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, local codes, standards, and client requirements
- Perform electrical calculations (load, short circuit, protection coordination, voltage drop, conductor sizing)
- Review vendor submittals and evaluate electrical equipment (e.g., switchgear, panels, transformers, motor starters)
- Participate in site visits, commissioning, startups, and inspections
- Contribute to estimating, value engineering, and cost control efforts for electrical scopes
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with VDC teams and field personnel to maintain alignment between design and construction
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in electrical design, ideally within construction, MEP, or industrial environments
- Proficiency with electrical engineering software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or similar)
- Strong working knowledge of Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM coordination
- Familiarity with construction methods and materials, including raceways, conduit types, and wiring practices
- Solid understanding of NEC, electrical codes, and industry standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across design, field, and operations teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting project priorities
- Willingness to travel to project sites and occasionally work in field environments
What You Bring to the Role
- A proactive mindset — you anticipate issues before they arise
- Passion for quality, safety, and precision
- A collaborative spirit — you enjoy working with field crews, designers, and leadership
- A desire to learn, grow, and help mentor others
