We are seeking a Senior Plumbing Designer to join our client's team in Las Vegas, NV. This position is responsible for the overall design of projects assigned to them. They will play a vital role in the firm by contributing to developing and implementing innovative design solutions for various construction projects. Working closely with our team of Engineers and Project Managers, the position is responsible for translating conceptual ideas into detailed design documents. With a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of industry standards and regulations, the position ensures that the firm's designs meet client requirements, budget constraints, and regulatory requirements while adhering to best practices. Through collaboration, creativity, and technical expertise, the position helps deliver high-quality, cost effective MPET solutions that contribute to our projects' success and our clients' satisfaction.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- Understand scope and design intent to meet owner's intent.
- Perform calculations, equipment and fixture selection, drafting, coordination, and all other related tasks to provide a complete design.
- Incorporate all client requirements as directed.
- Research and design for optimal system including, but not limited to, layouts, calculations, investigations, schedule, etc.
- Prepare project reports.
- Take project team from kickoff to completion without daily guidance or direction from the Team Lead or Director of Engineering.
- Assist Project Manager with deliverables being sent to client by deadline.
- Coordinate architectural, structural, civil, and all other discipline designs into your design. Coordinate with other disciplines so they can incorporate your design into their design.
- Review own drawings, reports, and calculations for accuracy and completeness.
- Have an extensive knowledge of client/agency specific standards and applicable codes. Research design codes as needed.
- Answer questions and give guidance to junior designers as requested by Team Lead.
- Be able to manage several projects at one time, set priorities, and accurately estimate time to accomplish tasks.
- Maintain contact with client as directed by Project Manager.
- Address plan check comments and provide responses and revisions as needed.
- Answer RFIs and questions from the client. Review and provide responses to product submittals.
- Conduct site observation visits and/or punch walks.
Position Requirements:
- No degree is required but an associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- 7+ years experience in plumbing design.
- Revit/AutoCAD experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, contracts, and procedures.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, guests and other situations that may arise.
