We currently have an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our teamin Indianapolis with hybrid home/office flexibility. The ME Team serves public sector clients with planning, design, and construction services for architectural and municipal infrastructure projects (water & wastewater). Responsibilities will include development of bid packages for electrical building systems. Experience with power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, data and other low voltage systems, building control systems and municipal water and wastewater infrastructure is desired.
Primary Responsibilities
- Performs site survey and data collection to verify and document existing conditions.
- Verifies conditions of existing equipment in the field and prepares technical reports as needed.
- Performs design tasks for electrical phase of ME projects.
- Applies engineering principals to develop and test power distribution models and loads.
- Performs calculations, selects equipment, coordinates drawings and develops bid documents.
- Coordinates with other team members across offices and disciplines to complete projects.
- Learns and applies new skills though active participation in Communities of Practice.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (EE emphasis) and EIT is desired.
- 5+ years of experience with facility design including in one or more of the following areas: low voltage distribution, power systems, building control systems or lighting design.
- Experience with the following design and modeling tools; Revit, AutoCAD, SKM PowerTools, AGI 32 or other lighting design software and MS Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with other staff, clients and contractors effectively.
- A valid driver’s license is required for travel to project sites.
