We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) to join our residential and commercial design team. The ideal candidate will assist Project Managers with civil design tasks and gain hands-on experience across multiple phases of residential development projects. Typical Responsibilities
- Assist in civil engineering design for residential projects, including street, water, and sewer design.
- Support Project Managers with civil design tasks using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, as well as storm drainage modeling software.
- Learn and assist with permitting processes and submittals.
- Prepare and submit documents for plats and project permits.
- Attend client meetings, record meeting notes, and assist with follow-up actions.
- Visit construction sites to collect field data, take photos, and prepare site reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from a 4-year ABET-accredited university – Required
- E.I.T. certification or ability to obtain – Preferred
- Progressive experience in civil engineering design (preferred), including:
- Water and sanitary sewer pipelines
- Roadway design for city and county projects
- Site layout, drainage, grading design, platting, and permitting
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D – Desirable
- Strong ability to work on multiple projects concurrently while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines and budget expectations
- Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to coordinate with internal staff and clients
- Must be able to pass a full background check for employment and to access school project sites
