Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil CAD Technician to join our growing San Antonio team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an established, fast-growing civil engineering and surveying firm on a wide range of project types.
Typical Responsibilities
- Work under the supervision of a CAD Lead or Project Engineer to support assigned projects and meet established timelines.
- Prepare layouts, drawings, and designs according to engineering and surveying specifications using Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Develop and modify alignments, surfaces, profiles, pipe networks, intersections, and corridors, as well as plan and profile sheets and subdivision plats.
- Retrieve and edit information from files, produce updated drawings, and prepare final hardcopies.
- Ensure drafting standards and project quality are maintained across all deliverables.
- Assist with survey and design coordination, ensuring project accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Manage multiple drafting assignments efficiently and accurately in a deadline-driven environment.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Civil CAD drafting experience – Required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D – Required
- Experience with Xrefs, Data Shortcuts, and drafting standards
- Strong technical and math skills, including familiarity with standard measurements and scale usage
- Detail-oriented and adaptable to new technology and software
- Experience with both public and private sector projects (state, city, county, utility districts, and private land development)
- Experience with residential, commercial, and educational design projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Knowledge of MicroStation and InRoads is a plus, but not required
- Ability to work independently or within a team, meeting client expectations and deadlines
- May be required to complete safety or project-specific training as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification preferred
