The primary role of this position is to provide architectural design and documentation skills for projects of various types and sizes and providing assistance to managing a design team. Preference is given to individuals who have specific project type expertise and owner relationship experience. The Project Architect will participate in advanced planning, programing, and schematic design phases, with participation in design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Participate in developing schematic design documents, preliminary budget, and programming documents.
• Provide project document management skills.
• Engage project client to maintain and measure client satisfaction/ checks and balances.
• Review project deliverables for project specific goals, accuracy, and thoroughness
• Actively mentor colleagues as trainer and teacher to support professional growth and communication skills in dealing with Clients and vendors, including proper use of forms.
• Proactively bring issues and problems to the attention of the team; generating, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to solve them.
Education & Skills
• Degree from an NCARB accredited Architecture College
• A minimum of eight years of professional experience as a project manager
• Architecture License
• Experience facilitating and presenting at public meetings and forums
• Expertise in writing reports, business correspondence, contracts, and business development proposals
• Expert in all aspects and phases of the architectural production process
• Excellent communication skills to facilitate meetings with the client and project staff
• Thorough knowledge of code requirements
